We will learn about flint blades on Arbour Hill going back 8000 years,  the creation of a Deer Park and remains of Henry 8th’s hunting lodge, the contested enclosure of the 8th Earl of Northumberland, the creation of the Capability Brown landscape,  why the House abuts the Town rather than being in the middle of the Park, the destruction of parts of Petworth Town &  Tillington to enlarge the Park, the Victorian shooting range, the Park’s role in WW11 (including the Dieppe Raid and D Day), the post war Polish camp and, bringing us right up to date,  the change in landscape from the abortive Petworth by pass – & more!
