On the 15th March 1974, a new organisation called the Petworth Society was formed and had its first meeting at the Leconfield Hall.
On 15th March 2024, the Petworth Society will mark those 50 years of existence with a celebration, again at the Leconfield Hall. This event will be free to members and will include drinks, canapes and three structured, short presentations on the last fifty years:
- Miles Costello on the history of the Society
- Janet Duncton on the history of the town
- Lord Egremont on the history of the Leconfield Estate
We anticipate quite a demand for attendance and the hall holds a maximum number, so if you would like to attend please confirm a spot either on this website, by email to mike@themulcahys.org or by telephone on 01798 345160.
